The tradition of vampires is varied and ancient, but Bram Stoker's popularization consolidated and streamlinedmany disparate themes into a single literary image of a suaveseducer capable of organizing international real estate dealsand mingling in the highest social circles. This new figure givesus the opportunity to combine, within a single bolagram, variousthemes of vampirism around the drama of a single set of characters, but the tradition is in no way diminished by this.
